Detailing the activities of the Venetian port, The Harbor is an Italian jacquard wall tapestry. The artwork comes from a mid 18th century painting of Venice by Francesco Guardi (1712 – 1793). Guardi was a Venetian veduta painter of the Venetian School. He is considered to be among the last practitioners, along with his brothers, of the classic Venetian school of painting. This class of artwork is called a Veduta, a highly detailed, usually large-scale painting or, print, of a cityscape or some other vista.
